Fair Trade Jointed Cow

These lovely jointed fair trade cows are hand carved and painted by a family in Bali. Perfectly suited to sitting on a computer monitor, these fair trade cows are wonderful way to liven up a workspace. These fair trade cows are carved in a fast growing, sustainable soft wood called Belalu which is local to Bali.

The large cow measures approximately 34cm high and the small cow measures approximately 15cm high.

The importer of this product is a member of BAFTS and has a direct trading policy. They visit the poorer regions of the world, such as Indonesia, Nepal, Peru and the Amazon, in search of quality crafts. Once found they pay a fair price, often making advance payments to enable the craftsman or artist to purchase raw materials. This direct trading policy currently provides well paid regular employment for about 200 families.
