Fair Trade Purple Ribbon & Chain Necklace

This pretty fair trade necklace has been delicately made in India. The gold coloured chain sits along side a purple velvet ribbon that holds a beautiful pendant. The pendant consists of 2 purple coloured flowers and a single pink pearl at the end.

Measuring 20cm long, when done up, this fair trade necklace would make the prefer gift.

The importer of this fair trade necklace is a member of BAFTS and has been trading fairly for over ten years. They buy fair traded products from India, Indonesia, Nepal and Thailand. Most products are purchased directly from the primary producers. In India they will purchase from larger companies who provide benefits for their workers such as free healthcare and free education. One of their suppliers provide funding for two schools in Rajasthan. One supplier in Nepal supports an orphanage and he gives his workers work clothes and holiday pay. In Indonesia and Thailand where they only deal with the primary producer the supplier may provide advance payments for them to purchase materials and other necessities. All workers are paid a fair price for each product with is above the national average and men and women are paid the same rate.
